Lost Maples State Park - November 20, 2010

We met Friday night after school at Brother Cooper's home.  We got on the road and headed off to Lost Maples State Park.  We arrived at Lost Maples State Park and met up with Brother Grayam and his family.  It was dark and we had to hike up the mountain to our campsite.  The plan was to meet the scouts from the Encino Park ward.  After hiking for awhile and searching for them unsuccessfully we decided to go back and camp overnight in the parking lot.  We quickly set up our tents and went to bed.  In the morning, we made our own breakfast and Brother Grayam made us hot rolls sprinkled with cinnamon.  They were so good!  We headed off to hike up the mountain again to find the other scouts and go repelling with them.  When we got to the top we found them and started repelling with them.  It was a blast and a great experience!  We took some photos along the way and hope you enjoy them.  Thank you to our leaders who take the time to take us scouting and make such fun memories!

Bear Creek Scout Camp June 28th - July 3rd, 2010

We left early Monday morning June 28th, 2010 to head off to scout camp for an entire week.  We were all so excited for the week ahead.  When we got to Bear Creek Scout Camp we started off with a flag ceremony and then went to find our pre-pitched tents that we would sleep in.  We unloaded our stuff and got settled and then went to eat lunch at the pavillion.  We split off after lunch to start working on our merit badges.  The weather started off warm but then turned into rain after a few days.  We had some pretty good rainstorms and we were so glad our belongings were in totes to keep things dry.  After a week of fun, sun, dirt, water,canoes, bugs, rain, blisters, food and hard work our scout troop left with many hard earned merit badges!  A huge thanks to all of our leaders and members of our ward that took the time off work and away from their families to come to Bear Creek Scout Camp with us!
